Assistant Pastor
Lee Perry
Pastor Lee Perry became a member of Hope Community Church in 2004. Pastor Perry currently serves as Executive Pastor under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Charles Rodgers. He has also held various church leadership positions in St. Louis, Missouri, Kansas City; and Memphis, Tennessee.
Pastor Perry has been married to his wife, Rena’ Perry, for over forty-nine years, and they are blessed with two sons and two grandchildren. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in biblical studies at Birmingham Theological Seminary.
After working for a large IT firm for over forty-four years, Pastor Perry recently retired as a Client Partner and Program Executive. He also served five years in the United States Air Force in support of our country.
Pastor Perry believes that “God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.”
Assistant Pastor Ava Farr
Bishop Ava Far, a native of Detroit, Michigan, relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, in 1990. She rededicated her life to Jesus Christ in 1993 at Hope Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Charles E. Rodgers, where her gifts in leadership, administration, preaching, teaching, and evangelism were cultivated. She received ministerial licensure through the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in 2004 and was ordained as a pastor by Bishop Rodgers in 2009. From 2010 to 2020, she served as Senior Pastor of Joy Cometh Ministries Church and was later consecrated as Bishop by Apostle James E. Kellem of the Dominion Covenant Fellowship of Churches.
A retired registered nurse and educator, Bishop Far is the mother of two living sons, grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of one. She is currently pursuing advanced studies in Biblical Studies at Birmingham Theological Seminary. Her ministry is devoted to introducing others to Christ, equipping believers for service, and faithfully preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God. Her life and ministry are guided by Ecclesiastes 12:13: “Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
Pastor James McNair
Pastor-Elect James McNair is a dedicated teacher, preacher, and prophetic leader with more than 33 years of ministerial experience. He accepted Christ at age 21, was baptized in Jesus’ name, and received the Holy Ghost. His ministry has focused on biblical teaching, preaching, prayer, outreach, prophetic ministry, and youth mentorship.
Pastor McNair has served in numerous ministerial and leadership roles throughout Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Delaware. He holds advanced degrees in theology, business, and engineering, along with extensive biblical and ministerial training. With a heart for serving God’s people and winning souls, he looks forward to leading and growing with the congregation of Hope Community Church.
Pastor Frederick a. Williamson
Elder Frederick A. Williamson is a devoted Christian, Bible teacher, preacher, and servant leader whose life and ministry are grounded in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep reverence for the Word of God. He is passionate about not only studying Scripture, but also living its truths and helping others experience its transforming power. With a heart for those navigating difficult seasons, spiritual challenges, and questions of purpose, Elder Williamson seeks through his preaching and teaching to make biblical truth practical, relevant, and applicable to everyday life.
Elder Williamson believes that true ministry extends beyond the pulpit and is reflected through a life of service, integrity, humility, and obedience to God. His journey has strengthened his commitment to perseverance, spiritual maturity, holiness, forgiveness, and unwavering trust in God. Whether preaching, teaching, encouraging others, or serving in his professional life, he strives to represent Christ through both character and conduct. His prayer is that God will continue to use his life and testimony to restore hope, strengthen families, build faith, and remind others that God has a divine purpose for their lives
Pastor Gilbert B. Mitchell
Gilbert B. Mitchell is honored to serve as an ordained pastor at Hope Community Church. Having recognized God’s presence in his life since he was five, he is deeply devoted to the full Gospel and passionate about sharing the Good News.
Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Faulkner University and is excited to use his gifts in service to the Lord under Pastor Dr. Charles Rodgers’ guidance.
He is blessed with a wonderful family, including his wife, Demetrice; their three children; their son-in-law; and two grandchildren. Gilbert looks forward to continuing his service with love, dedication, and spiritual clarity.
PASTOR
gloria pearson
Pastor Gloria Pearson is an ordained minister of the Gospel with over 20 years of dedicated service in preaching, teaching, discipleship, and pastoral ministry. Known for her biblically sound, Spirit-led ministry, she is passionate about sharing God’s Word and encouraging others to grow in their relationship with Christ.
She serves as Associate Pastor of Hope Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Charles E. Rodgers and leads the church’s Ministerial Alliance Ministry.
Pastor Pearson is also the founder of Blessings From Heaven Ministry, a nursing home outreach established in loving memory of her mother, Mattie Lou Jolly Lewis Brown.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Technology from Athens State University and has pursued biblical studies at Liberty Bible College.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she resides in Decatur, Alabama, with her husband, Harold. Her greatest desire is to glorify God, faithfully fulfill His calling, and leave a lasting legacy of faith.
Her guiding scripture is Acts 20:24: “My only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.”

kurk L. nicholas, Jr
Pastor Kurk L. Nicholas, Sr. is a devoted servant of God, a steadfast defender of the Gospel, and a passionate advocate for strong, Christ-centered marriages and families.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Pastor Nicholas proudly served 25 years in the United States Army before retiring. His life reflects a commitment to faith, service, leadership, and dedication.
Before accepting his calling into ministry, Pastor Nicholas faithfully served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He currently serves as Associate Pastor of Biblical Counseling and Couples Ministry at Hope Community Church, where he is committed to strengthening marriages, restoring families, and encouraging believers to stand firmly on the Word of God.
Pastor Nicholas has been lovingly married to Lady Lynette Nicholas for over 40 years. Both are natives of New Orleans, Louisiana, and together they have shared a lifetime of love, faith, and service. He is the proud father of one son, the late Kurk L. Nicholas, Jr., whose memory remains forever cherished.
A man of unwavering faith, Pastor Nicholas continues to lead with wisdom, compassion, and conviction, believing that God’s Word is the foundation for victorious living, strong marriages, and lasting family legacies.
